    Description

"This checklist was our Bible for rendezvous with the CM America..."

Apollo 17 Lunar Module Flown LM Rendezvous Charts Checklist Book Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander Gene Cernan, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. A twenty-two page document on 8.5" x 10.5" cardstock between two heavyweight covers, held together with three binder rings. The part number, "SKB32100127-392" is on the front cover along with the serial number "1001". It is signed just below the title box: "Flown/ To/ Lunar Surface/ Apollo XVII/ Gene Cernan". As Cernan states in his accompanying LOA (see below), this was an important checklist. Seldom offered complete. Very fine condition. From the Steven R. Belasco Collection of Space Memorabilia.

Included with this lot is a signed, illustrated Letter of Authenticity on his letterhead stating, in full: "This is the Lunar Module Rendezvous Charts checklist. This checklist was our Bible for rendezvous with the CM America orbiting the moon with Ron Evans (Captain America) aboard. Upon firing our ascent engine, departing our base at Taurus-Littrow where we had spent three days exploring the moon, we consulted this checklist's charts and tables against readouts from our computer as well as updates from the ground. Our LM rendezvous radar took over just before the CM became visible. I kept this checklist as a souvenir when transferring items from the LM to the CM before it was jettisoned and we headed home. I signed the front cover. This was the last such checklist used by Apollo."
