DescriptionApollo 16 Unflown Silver Robbins Medallion. There were 300 of these beautiful sterling silver medallions struck for the Apollo 16 flight, though only 98 were flown. The mission insignia is depicted on the obverse and the mission dates are engraved on the reverse. Apollo 16 was the fifth manned lunar landing with Commander John W. Young, Command Module Pilot T. Kenneth Mattingly Jr., and Lunar Module Pilot Charles M. Duke Jr. as the crew. This particular medal, in a silver-colored bezel and with a 20" chain, was a gift from Charles Duke to a close friend.
