DescriptionApollo 16 Lunar Module Model on a Plaque Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander John Young, Certified and Signed. A detailed, silver-colored metal scale model of the Apollo lunar module with an overall size of 9.75" x 9.75" x 6.5" tall. It has been mounted to an 18" x 12" x 0.75" wooden base along with an unflown embroidered mission insignia patch and a brass plate, 6" x 2", with the engraved text:

Grumman was the manufacturer of the LM. Apollo 16 was the fifth manned lunar landing mission, April 16-27, 1972, with crewmembers John Young, Ken Mattingly, and Charlie Duke. Young and Duke spent nearly three full days on the surface of the moon and brought back 94.7 kg of lunar samples. Extremely fine condition.
On the wooden base, John Young has written in silver: "From My Personal Collection. John Young".
