Description

Apollo 15 Lunar Module Flown Electrode Bag Assembly with Rockwell Parts Removal Tag. A Beta cloth multi-compartment pouch, 4" x 9.75" overall (4" x 3.75" folded), with a flap and Velcro closure. The label sewn on the outside shows the part number "SEB42100451-301", the serial number "1001", and the following information: "MFD BY: MSC/CSD/6/71", "ASSEMBLED BY: MSC/PSD", and "DATE OF ASSY. 6/71". This bag contained spare electrode body sensors to be used by the astronauts during the mission in order to transmit medical data back to earth. This bag launched in the LM Falcon and then was transferred back to the command module in case they were needed on the journey back to earth. The yellow Rockwell "Temporary Parts Removal Tag" shows it was removed from S/C 112 (Apollo15). It still contains unused sensors. Included is a copy of the LM stowage list page fifty-six where this item is shown as "Bag, LM Bio Electrode". Rare. Some staining, a few loose threads, overall fine condition. From the Steven R. Belasco Collection of Space Memorabilia.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
