Apollo 15 Flown National Flag of The Netherlands Originally from
the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Al Worden,
Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. A 6" x 4.375" cloth
national flag that accompanied Dave Scott, Al Worden, and Jim Irwin
to the moon and back on their 1.4 million mile journey, July
26-August 7, 1971. This tri-color red, white, and blue design was
first introduced in 1572. Worden has signed on the lower portion of
the white stripe: "Flown to the Moon on Apollo 15 Al Worden
Included with this lot is a 2010-dated letter of authenticity signed "Al Worden" on his letterhead, stating (in part): "I hereby certify that this flag from the Netherlands included with this letter went to the moon aboard Apollo 15 in the spacecraft 'ENDEAVOUR'..." From the collection of Lee Nunn.
