DescriptionApollo 15 Flown Large American Flag Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Al Worden, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. An 11.75" x 7.75" cloth U.S. flag that flew to the moon, July 26 - August 7, 1971, aboard the Apollo 15 Command Module Endeavour. Worden has signed in the lower right corner on the white stripe: "Flown to the Moon on Apollo 15 Al Worden CMP". A very desirable larger-size flag, perfect for display. Stored folded once, otherwise excellent.
Included with this lot is a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Worden on his personal letterhead stating (in part): "I hereby certify that the United States flag (8x12) included with this letter and marked with my signature and flight number went to the moon aboard Apollo 15 in the spacecraft 'ENDEAVOUR'. It remained in the command module during the lunar orbit phase of the flight. It has been in my personal possession since then..."
