DescriptionApollo 15 Flown Flag of the Republic of Guinea Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Al Worden, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. A 6" x 4.25" cloth flag that flew to the moon in 1971 on Apollo 15 with crewmembers Dave Scott, Jim Irwin, and Al Worden. The design of Guinea's flag was adopted in 1958, a vertical tri-color of red, yellow, and green. Worden has signed along the bottom edge: "Flown to the Moon on Apollo 15 Al Worden CMP". Excellent condition.
Included with this lot is a signed letter of authenticity on his letterhead, stating (in part): "I hereby certify that this flag from Guinea included with this letter went to the moon aboard Apollo 15 in the spacecraft 'ENDEAVOUR'. It remained in the command module during the lunar orbit phase of the flight."
