Apollo 14 Lunar Module Flown Printed Houston Post Headlines Originally from the Collection of Mission Commander Alan Shepard. A 2.5" Lucite cube containing a printed strip of newspaper front pages around the perimeter and a copy of a signed, handwritten note from Shepard at top: "This is to certify that this printed strip and the corresponding negative strip went to Fra Mauro Base, Moon in Antares, 2/5/71 Alan B Shepard Commander, Apollo 14". The famous front pages include: Eisenhower's death, Armstrong's moonwalk, Kennedy's assassination, Glenn's orbits, Shepard's first flight, and the announcement of the NASA space center plans. Shepard reportedly carried at least three different newspaper titles like this one with him to the moon. A well-known publisher has donated a similar item with a Florida newspaper reprint to the Library of Congress. A unique LM-flown collectible in excellent condition.
