Flown to the moon on Apollo 14Apollo 14 Flown Belgian Flag Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander Alan Shepard, with Signed and Notarized LOA. A 6" x 4" cloth flag of Belgium that flew aboard Apollo 14 to the moon along with Alan Shepard, Edgar Mitchell, and Stuart Roosa. The Belgian flag is a vertical tricolor of black, yellow, and red as adopted in 1831. This is the first flown flag from Shepard's collection that Heritage has offered. It was given to the consignor, a family friend, by the two Shepard daughters in 1998, after the deaths of Alan and Louise. Rare and desirable. Excellent.

This is to certify that the accompanying flag, was flown on board Apollo 14 to the moon during the time period of January 31 to February 9, 1971. The flag is the national flag of Belgium." It was notarized on October 31, 1996.
