    Description

Apollo 13: Saturn V Rocket 1/144 Model Signed on the First Stage by James Lovell with a Fred Haise Signature Mounted on the Wooden Base. A 32.5" tall (overall) plastic model on 6" x 6" x 2" wooden base. It is signed in felt tip: "James Lovell/ Apollo 13" and "Best Wishes/ Fred Haise/ Apollo 13 LMP". Various mission-related medals and pins have been mounted on the base, one is loose. This model was used in a PBS television documentary titled "Bob Truax: The Navy's Rocket Man" by the producer Dr. Elliott H. Haimoff. During the documentary this model was shown and signed afterwards by Lovell. Our consignor bought this signed model directly from Haimoff. Lovell admired Truax, a fellow midshipman/ rocket fanatic, and was inspired by him to become an astronaut. A screen shot from the documentary is included. Overall extremely fine.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
