Apollo 13 Flown CSM Rescue Book Signed by and from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander James Lovell. An 8.5" x 10.5" three-ring bound book of sixty-five pages with a Part Number of "SKB32100082- 354" and a Serial Number of "1001". There are numerous tabbed sections including CSM Rescue and LM Abort, along with various Abort and Rescue scenarios. There are a number of handwritten calculations in red felt tip through most of the Rescue sections. An important reference book for this famous flight. Complete and in very fine condition.

The command/service module, along with the lunar module, made up the entire Apollo spacecraft. The service module provided propulsion, electrical power, and consumables storage during the mission. It would be jettisoned and allowed to burn up in the atmosphere before the command module's re-entry to Earth's atmosphere with the crew. On Apollo 13, an explosion two days into the mission damaged the service module with a resulting loss of oxygen and electrical power. Lovell, Haise, and Swigert flew to and around the moon in the lunar module to conserve needed power in the command module. They had little power, heat, or drinkable water, but the brave crew endured the hardships and made it successfully back to Earth.
