Apollo 13 Flown Beta Cloth Mission Insignia with Flown Original Packaging Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander James Lovell, Signed and Certified, with Signed Letter of Certification. An 8" square piece of Beta cloth bearing the dramatic and colorful mission insignia depicting three horses flying across space with the Latin slogan "Ex Luna, Scientia" (from the moon, knowledge). Lovell has signed beneath: "This Apollo 13 Patch was on flown on the Apollo 13/ spacecraft around the moon 11-17 April 1970/ James Lovell/ CDR Apollo 13". Included with the Beta is a 9" x 9" blue pouch split open on one end. On the front is a white label on which is written: "2 [only one included] Apollo 13 patches/ flown on Apollo 13 Around/ the moon 11-17 April 1970/ James Lovell". On the verso are two NASA labels, one "Cleaned For Service" dated 3-15-70 and inspection-stamped, the other with the Part Number "SEB13100129-001" and Serial Number "DN17", with the same date. A wonderful pair of displayable flown relics of the flight often called a "successful failure". Very fine.Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Certification from Lovell on his company letterhead stating, in full: "I hereby certify that this Beta Cloth Patch was on board the Apollo 13 spacecraft. Apollo 13 perilous flight took off on April 11 and returned safely on April 17, 1970. This patch was from my personal collection of space artifacts and has been in my possession since the mission."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.View More Testimonials
As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
HA.com receives more traffic than any other auction house website. (Source: Similarweb.com)
