DescriptionApollo 12 Flown Embroidered American Flag Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean, with Handwritten LOA. A 3.5" x 2.25" embroidered U.S. flag patch with a gold border around. This was flown on mankind's second lunar landing mission, November 14-24, 1969, along with the crew of Charles Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon. Excellent.
Included in this lot is a handwritten and signed Letter of Authenticity on his personal letterhead. It reads, in full:
"I hereby certify that the accompanying small embroidered American Flag, measuring approximately 2¼" x 3½", traveled to the Moon with me in our Command Module, 'Yankee Clipper', during the Apollo 12 Mission in November 1969.
"It has been in my personal collection since that time.
