A 5.75" x 4" cloth U.S. flag signed at the lower right corner: "Flown to the moon/ Apollo XII Nov 69/ Alan Bean" mounted to a mat signed in black ink: "Charles Conrad Jr", "Dick Gordon", and "Alan L Bean". It is attractively matted and framed to an overall 24" x 21" with an unflown embroidered mission insignia patch and an 11" x 8.5" print of the Alan Bean painting "Clan MacBean Arrives on the Moon" signed in blue felt tip: "Alan Bean". A gorgeous piece for display. Excellent.
Included with this lot is a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Bean on his letterhead stating, in full: "I hereby certify that the accompanying 4 inch by 5½ inch American flag, signed by me in the lower right corner, flew with Pete Conrad, Dick Gordon and me during our Apollo 12 mission in November 1969. This flag made 45 orbits of the moon in our Command Module 'Yankee Clipper' before returning to planet Earth with us."
