    The legendary "visor" photo

    Apollo 11 Original NASA Glass Film Slide, an Image of Buzz Aldrin on Lunar Surface, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A 2" square (sight size) positive transparency, NASA image AS11-40-5903, mounted in a hand-numbered 4" x 3.25" glass slide. It shows Buzz Aldrin as he walks on the surface of the moon near the leg of the LM Eagle during the Apollo 11 EVA. Neil Armstrong took this photograph with a 70mm lunar surface camera. His image is visible in Aldrin's visor. One of the most famous photos of the entire U.S. space program. Rare and desirable. Glass cracked at lower right corner, otherwise excellent. Sealed in a numbered archival slab, CAG 1001741-006. Included with this lot is a color glossy photo of this image printed from the NASA archives. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
