Apollo 11 Lunar Flag-Planting NASA Photo Signed by Seven Astronauts and Six Rocket Scientists, Originally Obtained by Konrad Dannenberg. A 10" x 8" B&W glossy photo (NASA image S69-40308) mounted to a 13.375" x 11.375" board. A totally unique and important group of signatures gathered by the scientist who initiated the design of the Saturn V rocket, the launch vehicle that sent our astronauts to the moon. There are thirteen autographs directly on this photo, as follows: "J B Medaris" (Army General who commanded the Army Ballistic Missile Range); "Adolph Thiel" (supervised design of Redstone and Thor rockets); "Konrad Dannenberg"; "Werner Gengelbach" (member of von Braun's rocket team); "Helmut Hoelzer" (Director of Computation Laboratory at Marshall); "Hugo Woerdemann" (member of von Braun's team. worked with electronic devices); "Alan Shepard"; "Charles Conrad Jr"; "Owen Garriott"; "Richard Gordon/ Apollo XII"; "Edgar Mitchell/ Apollo 14"; "Walt Cunningham/ Apollo 7"; and "Alan Bean/ Apollo 12". Handwritten on the back of the mat is the history of this photo: "Signatures obtained by Konrad Dannenberg on the occasion of the Apollo 11 20th Anniversary Lunar Landing Celebration at the Marshall Space Flight Center". Four moonwalkers have signed as well as five scientist-members of "Project Paperclip" with room for additional signatures. Mat board with some creasing, photo very fine.
