Apollo 11: Limited Edition Medallion Struck by North American Rockwell, Directly from the Estate of NASA Legend Chris Kraft, with Certificate of Authenticity. 62mm diameter in heavy brass. North American Rockwell had a deep history with the American space program. They were the chief contractor for the Apollo command module, which served throughout the Apollo program and even a few missions beyond. This beautiful medallion commemorates the Apollo 11 mission, when Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins flew to the moon. Collins piloted the North American Rockwell-made command module over the moon as Armstrong and Aldrin walked upon the lunar surface below. The medallion features a Saturn rocket and the words "Apollo XI Aldrin Armstrong Collins" around on the obverse. The reverse shows an anonymous astronaut walking on the lunar surface with the lunar module behind him and the command module orbiting above.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
