    Description

United States flag flown to the moon on Apollo 11.

Apollo 11 Flown American Flag Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin, Signed and Certified. A 5.75" x 4" silk U.S. flag signed by Dr. Aldrin on the lower two white stripes: "Flown to the Moon on Apollo 11/ 16-24 July 1969 Buzz Aldrin 6-6-86". Apollo 11 was, of course, mankind's first landing on another celestial body. Items flown on that legendary flight are always in demand by collectors; this is an excellent and desirable example of a flown flag from Aldrin's own space collection.

This flag was given to the consignor directly by Aldrin in June 1986 at Warsaw, Poland in appreciation for opening his home to him and for attending to his transportation needs while he was in that country.
