DescriptionApollo 11 Embroidered "Bio-Garment" Mission Insignia Crew Patch Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, Signed, with COA. A beautiful 4" diameter patch made by Texas Art Embroidery as worn by the crew on their Biological Isolation Garments. The familiar design, originally by Collins (and modified by NASA), depicts an eagle carrying an olive branch in his claws about to land on the moon. It is signed on the verso in block letters: "Michael Collins". Excellent condition.
Included with this lot is a Certificate of Authenticity from Novaspace signed by Kim Poor stating, in full: "This Apollo 11 'bio-garment' patch is a high-fidelity version worn on the crew's 'bio-garments', isolation overalls worn in the biological isolation facility. It is among the rarest of Apollo 11 patches. It is authentically signed by Michael Collins and is from his collection."
