Description

From the engineer who "wrote the book" about the subject

Apollo 11: Command Module (C/M 107) Post Mission Analysis Photo Slides (190). An amazing find! Two original boxes hand-labeled: "C/M 107 Post Mission Analysis/ NASA-MSC BL 6" and dated in August and September 1969, containing a total of 190 color 35mm slides taken mostly in late August as the Apollo 11 Command Module was disassembled and tested right after the end of the astronaut quarantine period, a rush job due to the nearness of the Apollo 12 launch date. Following is a list of the slides by the numbers on each with date ranges. There is no duplication (some numbers have an "A" and "B" slide).

    1291:06 (01) August 14, 1969

These slides come from the estate of NASA Engineer Donald T. Hamilton and an original copy of his "Apollo Experience Report - Postflight Testing of Command Modules" (NASA TN D-7435) is included with the lot. It breaks down in great detail what this post-mission analysis entailed. We suspect that most of these photos are not readily available for study by the serious space historian. This is a rare opportunity to own these originals from the NASA expert on the process. Slides excellent. From the family collection of the late Donald T. Hamilton, a NASA engineer of 40+ years' service.
