DescriptionApollo 11: Collection of Thirty Vintage NASA Photos along with Period TRW Press Releases and Various Publications from the Files of Smilin' Jack Creator Zack Mosley. As the creator of an aviation-related comic strip that ran for forty years, Mosley was very conscientious about staying on top of all the latest technology in related fields such as space exploration; he kept extensive personal files with clippings, press releases, and NASA material in order to weave the correct names, dates, and technical information into his period strips. This lot contains his file on the landmark Apollo 11 mission. Of special interest are the thirty 8" x 10" original glossy NASA photos with press captions on their versos. Twenty-three of these were released in 1969 and the other seven were released upon the fifth anniversary in 1974. A number of these are rarely offered and all are in extremely fine to pristine condition. Also from NASA are two Apollo 11-related illustrated "Space Sheet" publications, 17" x 22" in size, made for reproduction in local newspapers. Other items include: eight TRW July 1969-dated press releases in a glossy color folder, the July 21, 1969, Miami Herald "Man Walks on the Moon" front page, a Miami Herald special color "Apollo 11: Man's Journey To Tomorrow" section dated July 13, 1969, and two magazines, Esso Air World (May/June 1969) and Ryan Reporter (October 1969). These additional items range from very good to fine. Nice grouping.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
