Apollo 10 Lunar Module Flown Spacecraft Identification Plate Display Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot John Young, Certified and Signed. A metal plaque of 5.25" x 1.75" mounted to a 10" x 11" wooden display plaque beneath a metal die-cut representation of the lunar module. LM-1 flew on the unmanned test flight of Apollo 5. LM-2 never flew and is in the National Air and Space Museum. LM-3 flew in Earth orbit with Apollo 9 where it passed all its docking and extraction tests. LM-4 (Snoopy) flew with Apollo 10 to the moon where, in further tests in preparation for a moon landing, it separated from the Command Module Charlie Brown and descended to within 8.4 miles of the lunar surface. Extremely fine condition with just a couple of scrapes to the wood at the right edge.

At the bottom of this wooden plaque, Young has written in silver: "Plaque Flown on Apollo X. John Young".

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
