DescriptionApollo 10 Flown and Crew-Signed Beta Cloth Mission Insignia Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Gene Cernan, with Signed LOA. A 9" square mission emblem that was flown aboard Apollo 10, the "dress rehearsal" for the Apollo 11 landing. It is signed by all three: "Gene Cernan/ Apollo X - XVII", "John Young/ Apollo X - XVI", and "Flown To The Moon On Apollo X/ May 18-26, 1969/ Tom Stafford". A very rare item, the first time Heritage has offered one. Light mounting traces around the edges on the verso, otherwise excellent.
Included with this lot is a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Cernan from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation stating, in full: "This certifies that the accompanying Apollo 10 Beta Cloth is authentic and was given to me during my astronaut career with NASA. This crew emblem Beta cloth was flown to the Moon aboard Apollo 10 in May 1969. It is identical to, and from the same production run, as the patches worn by the Apollo 10 crew during the mission. The patch is from my personal collection and is autographed by all three crew members Thomas Stafford, John Young and myself."
