    Description

Apollo 1 Embroidered Crew Patch Originally from the Collection of Gordon Cooper. This 3.5" diameter patch is mounted to an 8.5" x 11" printed sheet signed "Gordon Cooper" at the close. It reads, in part: "The Apollo 1 cloth patch displayed below was one of the very first production run for this emblem. It was given to me by Apollo 1 mission commander Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom at the end of 1966. It came as a shock to us in the Astronaut Office as well as the entire nation and the world that he and crew members Edward White and Roger Chaffee were killed in a spacecraft fire on the launch pad just a few weeks later in January 1967. Gus was a very close friend. We were both selected as Mercury Astronauts in 1959 and later worked together on the Gemini Program. The patch symbolizes the mission objective of the first orbital flight for the Apollo spacecraft..." Excellent.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
