    Description

Apollo 1 (AS-204) Collection of Original Photos Including Seven with "Red Numbers." Eighteen rare photos related to what was planned as America's first three-man Apollo mission with Grissom, White, and Chaffee aboard. Tragically, all three were killed in a cabin fire during a launch pad test on January 27, 1967. Seven are 8" x 10" "red number" color glossies: S-66-40132 (x2), S-66-40253, S-66-40431, S-66-54380, S-66-54382, and S-66-58631. Also, eleven B&W glossies (some duplication). All have printed press captions on the verso and most are three-hole punched. Excellent. From the personal collection of longtime NASA photojournalist Andrew "Pat" Patnesky.
