The first artist in spaceAlexei Leonov Original Painting "The Ashy Layer" in Framed Display with Four Signed & Numbered Litho Prints and Photographic Provenance. A 19" x 12" (sight size) painting showing a mirage-like reflection of the moon on the earth below; two areas of city lights can also be seen. This "ashy layer" was postulated by Leonov and confirmed during a spaceflight; it was the subject of his Master's Thesis. Included is a color snapshot photo of him holding this painting at his home. It has since been beautifully reframed under glass, triple matted with an engraved plaque, in a 29" x 22" black lacquer frame. Leonov's paintings often include scenes he sketched during his two spaceflights. His works have been exhibited all over the world including in the National Air & Space Museum in Washington. A great piece of Space art. Excellent.
Included with the original painting are four 23" x 32" high-quality color prints from an edition of 1000. These are signed and numbered by Leonov in the lower border and were created a number of years ago from this original painting. Perfect for sharing or selling.
