Soviet Mission Luna 9: Panoramic Glossy Photo in Bound Volume Taken by the First Spacecraft to Make a Soft Landing on another Celestial Body, from the Collection of Oleg Ivanovsky. On February 3, 1966, the Luna 9 spacecraft landed on the moon and transmitted photographic data back to Earth. This period photo is mounted on six panels folded and measures 76" x 6.5" when extended. It is nicely bound into a book of 14" x 6.75" with an artist's conception of Luna 9 on the cover. The title page photograph shows the State emblem of the U.S.S.R. with the words: "СОЮЗ СОВЕТСКИХ СОЦИАЛИСТИЧЕСКИХ РЕСПУБЛИК" (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). This was Ivanovsky's personal copy; he was the director for the Sputnik, Luna, Vostok 1, and Lunokhod programs. As such, a true rarity. Fine.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
