Skylab II (SL-3) Flown and Worn Full Set of Four Inflight Jacket Patches Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Pilot Jack Lousma, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. The Skylab Space Station did not have laundry facilities so the astronauts would dispose of their worn clothing. These patches were removed from one of Lousma's inflight jackets before he left Skylab. Handsomely matted and framed to an overall 12.25" x 10.25", the display consists of: (1) a 5" x 2.75" American flag; (2) a 3.75" x 3.75" NASA "Meatball" design insignia; (3) a 3.75" x 3.75" Skylab II mission insignia; and (4) a 3.75" x 0.75" "J. LOUSMA" name tag. They are matted with a printed statement: "These four items were worn on my inflight jacket and were flown on the Skylab Space Station during July 28 - September 25, 1973", signed "Jack Lousma". Excellent display item. All four patches are in very fine condition with general wear and light soiling. Colonel Lousma has informed us that this is the last set available, so bid accordingly.

Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Authenticity on his letterhead stating, in full: "I hereby certify the four patches that accompany this letter were originally sewn to an inflight jacket I wore while flying aboard Skylab II (SL-3) during July 28 - September 25, 1973. The four patches include the U.S. flag, my nametag, the Skylab II mission emblem, and the NASA emblem. Setting a record of nearly two-months in space, the Skylab II mission orbited the "Good Earth" 858 times and traveled some 24,5000,000 before splashing down in the Pacific Ocean. I personally cut these from my inflight jacket prior to leaving Skylab, and they have been in my possession since the mission."
