    Description

Purdue University: Photo Album with Program Signed by the University President from the Presentation of His Honorary Doctorate in 1970, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, Certified by Collectibles Authentication Guaranty with a Photo Certificate. A 10" x 8.5" photo album with the Purdue logo in gold on front containing a dozen high-quality 7" x 5" B&W photos taken on January 9, 1970. This was the Convocation where he received his Doctor of Engineering degree "For courageous and dedicated personal contributions to the technology of supersonic flight and lunar exploration; and for the finest exemplification of those priceless human attributes of character, competence, and rigorous self-discipline demanded of all men who would help mankind reach for the stars." There are two programs included, one signed by Frederick L. Hovde. What a thrill it must have been for Armstrong to receive this degree from the university where he got his first degree exactly fifteen years earlier. Wear and toning, generally very fine. This lot will include an encapsulated CAG Photo Certificate with a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
