Purdue University: Neil Armstrong's Presentation 1955 Class Ring, 10K Gold with Diamond, includes Original Wooden Display Box with Engraved "Giant Leap" Quote, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. An absolutely stunning Purdue University class ring, size 8¼, engraved inside "Neil Armstrong". The diamond is approximately 0.30 carats, I-J-K color, and SI clarity. It was presented after his Apollo 11 mission and there is a heavy copper plaque on the top of the 6.5" x 4.5" x 2.5" wooden chest engraved to read: "Neil Armstrong/ Purdue University 1955, A.E./ One small step for a man, one giant/ leap for mankind./ Tranquility Base - July 1969". We assume that Armstrong either never received his class ring in the 1955 period, or possibly it had been lost. In any case, the University was proud to honor such a distinguished and important graduate with this special ring. CAG 1002098-014. Some discoloration to the engraved plate, ring is pristine. This lot will include an encapsulated CAG Photo Certificate with a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
