    Description

Neil Armstrong's 1955 Flight Plan For Flying an R4D While Working for National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) in Cleveand Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A carbon copy, 8" x 5" (unfolded), a printed form completed in manuscript, docketed June 30, 1955. The R4D was a later variant of the legendary twin-engine C-47, a workhorse of military and civilian aviation. This flight found Armstrong heading back to Cleveland from Omaha, Nebraska. This is a rare item as Armstrong was stationed in Cleveland for only a short time. Possibly the only item in the collection from this period. Slightly toned with age, otherwise in very good condition. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve. CAG 1002028-007. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
