Neil Armstrong Handwritten 1962 Postcard to His Grandparents from Paris Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A 5.75" x 4" deckle-edged color postcard picturing the Arc de Triomphe, postmarked from Paris on July 8, 1962, addressed to Mr & Mrs Wm Korspeter at RR #2 in Wapakoneta. This was the address to the farmhouse where he was born. He writes in blue ballpoint: "Hello-Have been here now for four days. Very interesting. Will return home late this week- Neil". Armstrong was in Paris from July 6-10, 1962, attending the 21st Meeting of the Flight Mechanics Panel of the NATO Advisory Group for Aeronautical Research and Development where he presented a paper titled "A Review of In-Flight Simulation Pertinent to Piloted Space Vehicles." A great item from just before the announcement of his acceptance as a NASA astronaut. See adjacent lot for a similar postcard sent to his parents. Very fine. Sealed in a numbered archival holder, CAG 1002041-003. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.Learn more about Collectibles Authentication Guaranty (CAG).
