    Description

Neil Armstrong Hand-Drawn Image of the Lunar Module on the Moon, One of a Series He Drew for His Father as He Explained NASA's Plans for Going to the Moon. On one of Neil's trips to Wapakoneta to visit his family, he sat down with his father Stephen to explain, in simple drawings on 8" x 10.5" lined paper, how they would accomplish the manned landing on the moon. This particular image shows the Lunar Module with the landing pads, antenna, and ladder (that Armstrong would later climb down to make that historical "small step"). He has labeled the Ascent Propulsion System (APS) with fuel tanks and also the Descent Propulsion System (DPS). Certainly a one-of-a kind piece. Small diagram on verso. Excellent.

This lot will be accompanied by a signed COA from Neil Armstrong's brother, Dean.
