Neil Armstrong and Apollo 11: Large Group of Related Philatelic Material Directly from the Personal Collection of Neil's Brother Dean Armstrong. A very nice collection put together over the years by Neil's parents and brother, possibly with contributions by Neil himself. As follows.
"New York World's Fair 1964-1965": A first day of issue souvenir of the 5¢ stamp, cancelled on April 22, 1964, with a photo of Neil "besieged by autograph seekers at the New York World's Fair Space Park".
"First Man On The Moon" First Day of Issue: Five excellent different souvenirs published by S. M. Kessler of Hicksville, NY, ranging in size from 11" x 8.5" to 16.5" x 10.5". Also, a space treaty reprint with United Nations first day of issue cancellation on September 19, 1968.
Anniversary Covers: Fifteen handsome cacheted covers, all cancelled at Wapakoneta on various anniversaries of the Apollo 11 mission, 1976-1984.
25th Anniversary Moon Landing: Ten still-sealed United States Post Office "Stamp Folio" packets with promo material. These sold originally for $4.95 each.
Miscellaneous: Mint space stamps, Apollo 11 launch cover with medal in presentation book, and three souvenir prints from the Neil Armstrong Museum, 11" x 8.5" to 11" x 14", all cancelled at Wapakoneta, July 11, 1980.
Generally excellent. This lot will be accompanied by a signed COA from Neil Armstrong's brother, Dean.
