    Description

NASA: Typescript Copy of a Research Paper "Utilization of the Pilot in the Launch and Injection of a Multistage Orbital Vehicle" Presented at the IAS 28th Annual Meeting, New York, January 25-27, 1960 Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. Thirty-two 8.5" x 11" pages, staple bound. Illustrated with charts and diagrams. Co-authored by Neil A. Armstrong, Euclid C. Holleman and William H. Andrews. "The role of the pilot in the launch of a multistaged vehicle with orbital capability has been the subject of much conjecture. As a passenger, he can be very expensive cargo; but, as an integral part of the control loop of the vehicle, he might add materially to the reliability and flexibility of the launch maneuver." Slight toning. Excellent. CAG 1002026-018. This lot will include an encapsulated CAG Photo Certificate with a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
