NASA's Formation: Hearings before the Select Committee on Astronautics and Space Exploration (April-May, 1958) Book with Two Additional Related 1958 Government Publications. A massive 1542 page document, 5.75" x 9.25", regarding the congressional hearings on the Bill H. R. 11881 regarding the creation of NASA. With it is an original thirteen-page printing of the Public Law 85-568 known as the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958. This act was passed on July 29, 1958, eliminating NASA's predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) and creating a new agency which became operational on October 1, 1958. Also included is: "Introduction to Outer Space", a sixteen page brochure issued by President Eisenhower at the White House and dated March 26, 1958.Generally very good. A goldmine of information for the NASA historian.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
