    "What Ever Happened to Apollo 11, Anyway?"

    Michael Collins Humorous 1970s Christmas Gift to Neil Armstrong Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A 9.5" x 6.5" B&W photo of Collins posed with a group of National Air and Space Museum guides in front of the Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia; a white beard and Santa cap have been added to his image. This photo is mounted to a 13.5" x 11" matboard on which is printed "Santa and his helpers". Written above and below by Collins in black ink: "What Ever Happened to Apollo 11, Anyway?/ Merry Xmas, and all that stuff-Mike etc.". From 1971 to 1978 Collins was director the National Air and Space Museum. A fabulous one-of-a-kind interaction between two crewmembers of the Apollo 11 mission. Mat lightly soiled, otherwise very fine. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1000281-007. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
