    Description

Lockheed F-104 Starfighter: Set of Four Original 1956 Flight Test Schematics Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, Each Certified and Encapsulated by Collectibles Authentication Guaranty. Each of these 8.5" x 11" prints depict a separate system of the JF-104A aircraft: "Propellant Pressure System"; "Pitch and Yaw Propellant System (Nose Cone)"; "Serco System and Electrical Schematic"; and "Cockpit Pressure Schedule". Armstrong served as project pilot on the Century Series of fighters of which the F-104 was part. This was the type of plane involved in the 1962 "Nellis Affair" in which Armstrong made a "rough" landing at Nellis AFB which led to a series of similar problems by Milt Thompson and Bill Dana who were sent to collect him. Interesting and early in his career. Very fine, sealed in numbered archival sleeves. This lot will include Statements of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
