    Giant Leap World Tour: 1969 Spanish Silk Moon Scarf Presented to Neil Armstrong Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. An original hand printed silk scarf, measuring 35.5" x 145", crafted in honor of the Apollo 11 flight to the moon. It has a cream background, decorated with small moons, produced by Antonio Horta of Barcelona, Spain. Housed in a navy wooden, felt-lined box that is decorated with an American and Spanish flag. The scarf was presented to Neil Armstrong during the Giant Leap World Tour in Spain from October 6-8, 1969. During the Giant Leap World Tour, the astronauts and their wives traveled to 24 cities around the world. On this occasion, they spent two days in Madrid, Spain. Scarf excellent, some light wear to box. CAG 1002107-022. This lot will include an encapsulated CAG Photo Certificate with a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.

    We have just located a handwritten and signed note from artist Antonio Horta, meant to be included with this item. CAG 1000145-021. It reads, in full:

    Barcelona, August 12, 1969

    Dear Mr. Armstrong,
    I beg the honor to offer to your distinguished and devoted wife a token of my handicraft inspired by the fabulous Apollo XI flight to the Moon and all that it implies for the future of humanity. My own admiration for your personal valor cannot be adequately expressed.
