    Description

Gemini Goodwill Tour: Scrapbook from Brazil Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, Certified by Collectibles Authentication Guaranty with a Photo Certificate. A bound volume of thirty-two photographs from Armstrong and Gordon's Goodwill Tour through South America. Brazil was the sixth country that the group visited, arriving on October 17, 1966. While there, they visited various memorials and universities, met with numerous heads of state including President Humberto Castello Branco, and attended luncheons and press conferences. Armstrong, who had a gift for languages, often greeted dignitaries and made small speeches in the local language. While in Brazil, he made a point of speaking about the talents and achievements of aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. The group finally left on October 22, after quite the whirlwind tour of Brazil. Minor toning and soiling at edges. The last photograph is creased, else very good condition. This lot will include an encapsulated CAG Photo Certificate with a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
