    Description

Gemini 12 Flown Mission Weather Map Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander James Lovell, Signed, with Signed LOA. A 32" x 10.75" color lithographed Mercator projection earth map prepared by the USAF Aeronautical Chart and Information Center and titled: "Gemini Mission Chart (GMC) 12". It notates the mission orbit tracks, the ground tracking stations, and planned landing zones as well as numerous hand-entered weather information in colored inks with a key at left margin. Various other handwritten notations at top margin and it is signed at lower right: "James Lovell" in bold black felt tip. On the verso are printed the "Ground-track coordinates for revolutions 17 through 64". Interesting and would display well. Stored folded, some wear, fine.

Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Certification from Lovell on his company letterhead stating, in full: "I hereby certify that this weather chart was carried on board Gemini XII to give the crew predicted weather conditions hindering earth observation and landing conditions. Gemini XII mission took off on November 11, 1966. This map is from my personal collection of space artifacts and has been in my possession since the mission."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
