    Description

Fortis Limited Edition "West in Space" Official Cosmonauts Chronograph, Serial Number 104, in Original Case with Accessories. From the collection of a former Cosmonaut candidate, given to him by Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center officials in 1995. The "West in Space" logo is that of a commercial sponsor and symbolizes the opening up of their space program to both the West and commercialization. This was the first time that a commercial sponsor paid for cosmonaut candidates getting ready for space. This impressive and high-quality Swiss-made automatic watch uses the rare Lemania 5100 movement. Functions are chronograph, date, weekday, and tachymeter. The case and back are stainless steel with a fixed bezel, screw in type crown and chrono pushers, and a sapphire crystal. Size is 39 mm diameter without crown. The dial and hands are luminescent. Included in the case are two additional bands- leather and steel along with a Bergeon tool and extra links and pins. Not tested, but apparently excellent condition with very little wear.

Another quality watch is included in the lot, with "Cosmonaut Training Center/ Star City" printed on the dial and engraved "Waterproof" on the back, leather band. Excellent.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
