    Description

Dave Scott Signed and Titled "One Red Bible" Limited Edition Color Print by Ed Hengeveld with Signed Letter of Authenticity from the Artist, in Framed Display. A 12.5" x 9.25" (sight size) fantasy print of Dave Scott holding a red Bible on the lunar surface with the Lunar Rover to his left. It is signed in black felt tip: "One Red Bible/ Dave Scott/ Apollo 15 CDR". This is an Artist Proof as certified in an accompanying letter from the artist. The little-known story behind this scene is told in a second certificate:

"In August 1971, at the end of the third Apollo-15 EVA, commander Dave Scott parked the lunar rover in its final parking place, before he and Jim Irwin entered the lunar module for the return to Earth. One of Scott's last, symbolic actions on the Moon was to place a small red Bible on the lunar rover, leaning against the control panel. He didn't mention it in his communications with Mission Control and. it was only many years later that I read about this for the first time. When a collector asked me to paint this scene I tried to find a photo of it, but all I could find was a photo of the lunar rover where the Bible is barely visible. Using my imagination I painted this rendition, hoping that this is how it would have looked to an observer at the scene."

The print is beautifully double matted and framed to an overall 23.5" x 19.5". Excellent.
