On Chris Kraft's desk for nearly 50 years

Christopher Kraft's Desktop Nameplate, Penholder, and Annunciator Panel "Gadget" Directly from His Estate, with Certificate of Authenticity. It's a bit hard to know how exactly to describe this very interesting item. It is a 12.625" x 2.125" x 8.625" trapezoidal walnut block with an engraved plate on top reading:

Also on top are eighteen small lights, sixteen of which are labeled with various departments that Kraft was responsible for, such as "Capcom," "Assistant Flight Director," "Guidance Officer," and "Flight Surgeon." Below are three pushbuttons labeled "STATUS REPORT," in green, yellow, and red. To each side is a pen holder with pens present. When on a desk, the far side front features an engraved nameplate, 11.75" x 2" overall, "CHRISTOPHER C. KRAFT, JR." On the side facing backwards, there is an engraved plate of the same size titled "Flight Director / Director Of Flight Operations" listing all the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions (to date) for which he had performed those duties. On the bottom is a screwed-down glass plate showing the custom circuitry involved in making these lights function. There are four non-working Burgess U20 type 30V batteries. We did not attempt to change them to see if this circuit still functions. We did find a modern equivalent on Amazon (search for "Exell 413A Alkaline 30V Battery NEDA 210"). Very fine. After nearly 50 years, Kraft still had this item on the desk of his home office.
