    Apollo Program: Design Reference Mission IIA Books, Three Volumes. A very rare set- the historical document that laid the plans for the first manned lunar landing. This document was prepared by the Apollo Mission Task Force, NASA/ Manned Spacecraft Center, Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, North American Aviation, and M.I.T. Each volume in 9" x 11", printed on quality paper and comb-bound between cardstock covers; the MSC Report No. is "PM3/M-171/66", it is dated "30 October 1966", and the subtitles are: "Volume I Mission Description", "Appendices to Volume I" and "Volume II Pre-flight Operations". Hundreds of pages, profusely-illustrated with numerous fold-outs, all three volumes contain external page tabs to locate all the various operation plans, technical details, charts, steps in the mission, etc. Fine condition with light soiling and wear from use.
