    Apollo Launch Invitations and Personal Correspondence from Astronauts and their Wives, Directly from the Jim Rathmann Collection. A fine grouping of Apollo-era material. All items in generally fine condition. Includes the following:
    Gene Cernan: One page typewritten letter signed, NASA letterhead, dated November 1, 1972. A personal invitation to Rathmann to attend the Apollo 17 launch. Signed "Gene Cernan". Transmittal envelope included.
    Apollo 10 Crew and Deke Slayton: Two-page Western Union Telegram by Telefax dated May 28, 1969, sending regrets for not being able to accept Rathmann's invitation to the Indy 500 as "...we will still be debriefing at that time." Envelope included.
    Bill Anders: An Anders family Christmas newsletter mailed inside a cacheted launch cover for Apollo 8, postmarked December 21, 1968. Signed on the cover's front: "Bill Anders" and on the back: "Thanks for all your help!"
    Jan Armstrong: A personal note to Kay sending regrets that she and Neil would not be able to get together with them while in Florida for the Apollo 17 launch due to a change in plans. Envelope included; Mrs. Armstrong has written the return address as from "N. A. Armstrong".
    Jane Conrad: A wonderful four page letter postmarked May 22, 1973, to Jim and Kay thanking them for their friendship with some great content about Pete's Skylab mission: "Pete sounds very happy and optimistic about salvaging the mission - in fact he's so excited, I think he could launch without a booster!" Envelope included.
    Launch Invitations: A great group of formal NASA launch invitations, many with original envelopes of transmittal, includes: Apollo 10, Apollo 12, Apollo 13, Apollo 14, Apollo 15, Apollo 16, and Skylab SL-2 (signed "Alan Bean" and "Jack Lousma").
