Apollo 9 Training-Used LM-3 [Lunar Module] Procedures Malfunction Book. An original NASA manual, dated February 24, 1969, of approximately 125 three hole-punched pages between heavy card covers, held together by binder rings. Inside there are eleven tabbed sections separating procedures by the various systems. It was used by the crew while training in the Lunar Module Simulator as "LMS Copy/ Do Not Remove" is written twice on the front cover in an unknown hand. Fine condition with moderate toning and evidence of use.

The Apollo 9 crew of Jim McDivitt, Dave Scott, and Rusty Schweickart flew the first complete Apollo Command/Service Module and Lunar Module combination into low earth orbit to test the LM systems in preparation for a trip to the moon. LM-3 was the first lunar module to fly in a manned mission and was given a call sign of Spider. Their mission was extremely successful and incredibly important in reaching the goal of man's landing on the moon.
