    Description

Apollo 9 Flown PLSS Air Filter Crystals Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart, Signed and Certified. Approximately eight tiny (2-5mm long) granules of activated carbon that were removed from Schweickart's Portable Life Support System's air filter. His March 6, 1969, EVA was the first (and only) time the PLSS was tested before a lunar landing. Schweickart has signed on the plastic petri dish: "Flown on/ Apollo 9/ Rusty Schweickart". An historic relic of the first use of this important and necessary piece of equipment. A piece of transparent tape holds the container together. Very fine.
