    Description

"...flew aboard Apollo 9 in my Personal Preference Kit (PPK)... subsequently flown aboard Apollo 15..."

Apollo 9 and Apollo 15 Flown Silver Snoopy Pin Originally from the Collection of Dave Scott, with Signed Letter of Certification. A 0.375" x 0.5" Robbins and Sterling hallmarked pin of the beloved Peanuts character Snoopy. This particular example flew into space not once, but twice, with Dave Scott. Apollo 9 was an earth-orbit mission to test the LM; Apollo 15 was a moonlanding mission. A very rare and desirable relic of the Apollo program for fans of Snoopy (and who isn't?) Letter with crinkling, Snoopy excellent (Scott has scratched "IX" on the verso).

Included with this lot is a signed letter from Dave Scott on his personal letterhead to Anne Lurton Scott. It reads in full: "This is to certify that the attached silver 'Snoopy' tie tack, a symbol of the NASA Manned Flight Awareness Program, was received by me prior to the flight of Apollo 9, and flew aboard Apollo 9 in my Personal Preference Kit (PPK). This particular 'Snoopy' tie tack was subsequently flown onboard Apollo 15 in my Personal Preference Kit (PPK). This 'Snoopy' tie tack is from my personal collection and is genuine in all respects."
