Page annotated at the time of the iconic "Earthrise" sighting

Apollo 8 Flown Page from the "Updates" Book at the Time of the "Earthrise" Photograph, Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot James Lovell, with Spaceflori COA. A 5" x 8" page from the "Maneuver" section of the flown book with a Part Number of "SKB 32100042-201" and the Serial Number "1003". The page is hand-marked "TEI 4" on the front and "TEI-5" on the back. Both pages contain numerous notations in ink by a crewmember at the time. For reference, the transmission related to the top of the front page took place at 3:13 PM on December 24, 1969. The "Earthrise" image was taken at 3:50 PM and the transmission related to the top of the verso took place at 5:19 PM. Looking at the onboard transcript of the mission, we see the following comments:

Anders: Oh my God! Look at that picture over there! There's the Earth coming up. Wow, that's pretty.
Borman: Hey, don't take that, it's not scheduled.
Anders: (laughs) You got a color film, Jim? Hand me that roll of color quick, would you...
    Lovell: Oh man, that's great!

Another comment, this one on the Mission Control transcript, shortly before the photo was taken has Frank Borman telling CapCom Michael Collins: "Old Anders is so busy fooling around with these pictures that-not much else is getting done." Of course, the photo he took became one of the iconic images of the twentieth century. Here is an opportunity to own a relic flown aboard man's first visit to the moon that was almost certainly open and being used at the time the image was taken. Very fine. Included is a signed COA from Spaceflori, the purchaser of the original full book from Heritage in 2008.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
